What You Will Learn:
This course provides comprehensive coverage of basic first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques, meeting legislative requirements for basic workplace first aid. Key topics include:
Preparing to Respond: Understanding the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system and following the Check, Call, Care action plan.
Airway Emergencies: Recognizing and helping a conscious or unconscious person who is choking.
Breathing and Circulation Emergencies: Learning how to manage and provide care for serious conditions like heart attack, stroke, and deadly bleeds.
First Aid for Respiratory and Cardiac Arrest: Performing high-quality CPR for adults (and optionally for children and infants, depending on the CPR level) and using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Injury Management: Basic wound care and recognition of other sudden medical emergencies.
Opioid Poisoning Awareness (Includes the latest Red Cross guidelines).
Certification Details:
Upon successful completion (demonstrating skills and achieving a minimum 75% on the written knowledge evaluation), you will receive a 3-year certification in Emergency First Aid and the chosen CPR Level (A or C) with AED.
